August 10 is National S'Mores Day! This delicious campfire treat is made from three simple ingredients-graham crackers, toasted marshmallows, and melted chocolate bars. The first recorded version of the recipe can be found in the 1927 version of the Girl Scout Handbook. The recipe was passed from camper to camper and eventually became a very popular fireside dessert. The early recipes called the treats Some Mores, but at some point the name was shortened to S'Mores. To celebrate today, I have discounted two S'Mores resources in my TpT Store. Why not bring in a bit of education to this fun celebration? It's a perfect time of year to gather up your friends and family, make a campfire, and enjoy this sweet treat! No campfire? You can toast your marshmallows in a toaster oven or even a microwave! Get creative while you are at it... you can add peanut butter to the graham crackers or use a peanut butter cup rather than the chocolate bar. Fudge dipped or striped cookies work well too if you don't have graham crackers!
Any way you design it, your S'More will be something you'll love!
These Back To School All About Me Posters even have a S'mores page!
Happy National S'mores Day!
